4.10.8.1 Device Identification

In order to identify a proper DTMDeviceType, a Frame Application has to compare identification information of scanned physical devices with identification information of a DTMDeviceType. These files must be converted to a field bus independent format using a fieldbus specific XSL transformation.

The following picture shows, how protocol specific schemas are integrated in the FDT specification and used by Frame Application and DTMs (Example HART is shown):
